How Twilight Farm Shoppe was Created...

I am a Culinary School Graduate (2006), who fell in love with baking as a little girl.   Finding myself a "stay at home" mom of twins in 2015, I decided to start using my love of baking as a creative outlet and a way to help friends and family who were struggling with breastfeeding their children, as well as a way to support my own family.   So I started working on my recipe for Lactation Cookies. 
 What is a Lactation Cookie?? 
 I get this question a lot! It is basically a gourmet Oatmeal based Cookie, that has added Galactagogue (milk production helpers) ingredients, such as Brewer's Yeast, Flaxseed Meal, and the Oatmeal itself.  I then wanted to offer cookies in the flavors new moms craved, so I left their mix in ingredients totally up to them creating truly custom made cookies for each and every order.  I offer large cookies, mini cookies, dairy free cookies and lactation brownies as well. 

Since starting my venture in 2015, I outgrew our in home kitchen and now bake in a USDA certified kitchen space in Downtown Mount Airy, North Carolina. 
Now that I am in a store front as well, I have started adding in several other baked goods, some special order, others available during the week thru the store.  

Bread, Cookies, Brownies, Baklava, Bars, Cakes, Cream Horns, Pound Cakes and so much more are on a regular rotation in my day to day baking in addition to my weekly Cookie Orders.  I love how much my business has grown and hope that it continues to do so for many years to come.
